The Orchids of Singapore

Despite the orchids always decorating my hotel room, somehow I managed to visit Singapore a few times before visiting the Botanic Gardens.

A shame, as the gardens are spectacular - and have been a UNESCO Heritage Site since 2015. I hadn't realised gardens could gain this title.

Within the spreading acres of the gardens lie the National Orchid Garden. I simply had no idea of the numbers and varieties of orchids (increased by one when my daughter picked up a fallen flower and gently placed it on a different plant. Quite a few people stopped to take a photo of it).

An afternoon thunderstorm was brewing, and I couldn't stay nearly long enough, yet I'd discovered an oasis in this busy town, an oasis I hope to revisit.

Perhaps instead you’d like to buy me a coffee? (Or a pony?)
