Taking a Step to One Side This is one of my favourite photos I took recently in Japan, and I almost didn't even see it. I had reached the Fifth Station of Mt Fuji - the highest one can go in a car. Although it was spring the taste of snow lingered in the air, and I stood in awe looking at this most magical of mountains. I could easily have spent all my time staring at the shy mountain, but I have a habit of following paths. Walking through the reception buildings to the other side, I came across this gorgeous forest, where a torii gate welcomed me to a shrine. Stone seats invited contemplation (even if they proved a bit chilly!); a perfect place for a quiet moment. And, when I returned, the majesty of Mt Fuji .  Memories of Prague Prague – such a beautiful place. I’ve yet to speak to someone who hasn’t fallen in love with the city. The Strahov Monastery sits near Prague castle. The library is just a small but stunning part of the complex. One day, one day, mine will look the same!   My Laughing Angel Perhaps one beer too many (c) A. Harrison I found this angel leaning against a pillar in Regensburg Cathedral. I'm not sure what was quite so amusing, but he seemed quite content to laugh the centuries away – he'd been sculpted around 1280 by the Master of St. Erminold. Personally, I think he's been trying the local beer and sausages at the Wurstküche Restaurant , feeding the workers of Regensburg since the late 12th Century. My happy angel (c) A.
